Today in Whostory: 1/08/2019

1966 – The Who are shown playing “I Can’t Explain” and “Daddy Rolling Stone” (recorded the previous August) on the last episode of the U.S. show Shindig

1966 – Disc magazine reports that Pete says The Who are dropping the Pop Art look in an article called “Who Are Growing Up Fast.” And, as usual, growing boys need new clothes.

1980 – e attends a Clash concert at Brighton Top Rank and is invited onstage by Joe Strummer. Pete plays with them for a few songs and an encore of “Louie Louie.”

2000 – Roger Daltrey performs with the British Rock Symphony in a private concert at theDobson Arena in Vail, Colorado as part of the Vail 2000 Sports International. Billy Preston also performs and SimonTownshend plays lead guitar.
