1962 – The Detours start a residency at the Grand Ballroom in Kent. They play there at least once a month until the early summer of 1963
1963 – Garnet Mimms & the Enchanters’ LP Cry Baby and 11 Other Hits enters the U.S. charts. One of the hits is “Anytime You Need Me, “ which will be re-titled “Anytime You Want Me “ when The Who cover it. Also hitting the charts on this date is The Miracles’ “I Gotta Dance To Keep From Crying “ that becomes a live staple of the early Who.
1965 – The Who play the Dorothy Ballroom in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
1967 – The Who play a dance at The New Barn on the Lions Delaware County Fairgrounds in Muncie, Indiana
1968 – John and his wife Alison head back to their old school, opening the annual Acton County Grammar Christmas charity bazaar.
1968 – The Who play the Corn Exchange in Devizes, Wiltshire
1971 – The Who play the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium in Atlanta, Georgia
1972 – Roger is photographed at his home by Michael Putland
1973 – The Who play the Forum in Los Angeles.
1973 – Billboard carries a full page ad for Lynard SKynaard
1974 – “Postcard “ backed with “Put the Money Down “, the single pulled from the Odds & Sods LP, hits the U.S. Cash Box charts. It reaches #64 there but fails to make the Billboard charts. With this release, John Entwistle finally gets a composer credit on the A side of a Who single in the U.S. and Canada.
1975 – The Who play the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis
1981 – John’s solo album Too Late The Hero is released in the U.K.
1993 – Pete is interviewed by Terry Gross on the National Public Radio (U.S.) program Fresh Air. He discusses how, after his 1991 hand injury, he began to investigate his childhood and discovered he had repressed memories of abuse by his grandmother.
2000 – Pete revises a poem “There is Something in My Food” for publication
2001 – Pete releases 2 double CD’s on his eelpie.com website of his solo shows in La Jolla, California, June 22 and 23, 2001
2006 – CBS-TV airs the episode “Living Legend” of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation guest starring Roger.
2011 – Pete headlines the 35th anniversary show of The Prince’s Trust at the Royal Albert Hall. He performs five songs on acoustic guitar
2012 – The Who play the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
2014 – The Who play the duArena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
