1964 – The High Numbers appear at the Scene Club in Soho

1964 – The High Numbers play The Mine at Carpenders Park

1965 – While trying to buy a guard dog for their van at the Battersea Dogs’ Home, the Who’s van is stolen from the parking lot. The van is soon recovered but with a door and £5,000 of equipment missing.

1966 – The Who play the Locarno Ballroom in Basildon, Essex

1967 – The Who play the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio

1967 – Billboard reports that Mayte Gaos of Mexico has recorded “Happy Jack” under the title “Jack el feliz”. You can listen to it on YouTube here

1971 – Rolling Stone carries a full page review of Who’s Next

1972 – The Who play the Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria

1972 – Billboard lists “Let’s See Action” in it’s “Also Recommended”. It’s also reports that The Who will appear on “Superstars of Rock”. Join Together reaches #5 in Hong Kong and #10 in the Swiss charts

1974 – The Daily Mirror reports that Kieth had been kicked out of his hotel the previous day for playing loud music

1978 – Melody Maker carries a story titled “Who comes next?” about Paul and Simon Townshend

1989 – The Who play in Houston at The Astrodome. Opening for them were Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble and The Fabulous Thunderbirds (w Stevie’s brother Jimmie Vaughn)

2012 – Simon Townshend appears on the cover of the Sunday Express Review where he discusses playing at the London Olympics with The Who and his upcoming U.K. solo tour.
